On the sixth week of this interesting
course, I was amazed to watch some interesting presentations. One of the presentations
was about clinical vampirism. Before beginning her presentation, the presenter
asked us a question which is “what is clinical vampirism?”. There were all kinds of answers in response to this
question. After hearing the audience’s answers, the presenter explained the
real definition of clinical vampirism. She explained that it was a mental
illness. I personally did not particularly understand the term so I was
captivated by the presenter’s explanation. She also told us that Auto Vampirism
is the obsession of drinking one’s own blood. I always thought that this was
just a legend but when I learned the true fact , I was shocked. I never
expected someone to drink their own blood. This was something new to me.
I also learned a new term which is “Zoophagia”. Zoophagia is the
obsession of drinking other human or animal’s blood. The presenter also
explained about Dracula Renfield. This person drink blood just for excitement
purpose. I was shocked to learn that such a character even exists. I really
could not imagine the thought of someone drinking blood for fun. The audiences
were shocked and scared to acknowledge such a fact. I realized that such an act
definitely scares people.
The presenter even showed us several pictures to get a view on this
topic and to enable them to understand better. In addition, we were showed the
details of some of the historical figures involved. One of the historical
figure involved is Erzsebeth Bathory . This lady is the most powerful Hungarian
noble who killed and tortured over six hundred girls for their blood. She
believed that blood will make her look young forever. She was later imprisoned
until death in her own castle.
Besides that, another presenter presented about colours and human
characteristics based on the colours. This presentation was very interesting
and fun. I felt lively listening to this presentation as it describes everything
from a colour’s perspective. The audience were all so energized listening to
this presentation as it is fun and unique. I felt that this presenter had done
a good job in presenting her topic as everyone were so enthusiastic listening
to this presentation.
