REFLECTION FOR WEEK 3

On the third week of this course, we were exposed to blogs. My lecturer showed us the samples of blogs and the percentage of various blogs used throughout the world. I viewed the statistics of all kinds of different blogs used. My lecturer suggests two types of blogs to be use which is WordPress and Blogger. We were shown the difference between these two blogs and we began understanding the function of blogs. I was in a dilemma on which type of blog is better. Therefore, I did my own research on these two types of blogs. I compare these two blogs from various angles as I want to choose a blog which is beneficial. Choosing a blog is something very new to me as I have never set up my own blog before. Though I was confused, I was very thrilled to create my own blog for the first time. 

    I went through the web thoroughly to enhance my understanding about blogs. I analyzed different types of blogs and I looked up for their functions. I realized that there are many types of blogs that people set. There were blog which main purpose serves as an education tool whereas there were several other blogs which has different functions as blogs for tourism and blogs about people’s experiences. It was fun reading people’s blog as it shows all kinds of emotions. On the other hand, blogs which contains educational materials provide me knowledge when I go through them. I was able to explore many different things when I look at people’s blog. I feel as if I will be able to throw away my shy and introvert nature by setting up my own blog. I will also be able to explain or talk about things with clarity and preciseness. 

     In addition I was excited to make my own blog because I will be able to choose my own theme and customize it according to my own preference. When I make my blog, I had to register first and after registering, I was able to have my own blog. After that, I set my favorite theme and began customizing it. My assignment requires me to post my essay in the blog which I have just set up. Therefore, after finishing each essay, I upload it in my blog to be checked by my lecturer. I am required to give my url address to my lecturer as it enables her to look up my blog to check and evaluate my essays. It was a new experience as I began submitting my assignments in a new way which I had never even thought of using before. This blog has taught me a new way of doing things precisely.
