My
family consists of my father, my mother and my two brothers. We stay at Melaka.
My family is a very important unit to me as they are my source of inspiration
and confidence. They are the people who I can rely on when I am going through
tribulation in my life. They always ensure that I am on the right track and
that I am always happy. During my downfall, they always stood firmly beside me
never letting go of my hands. Whenever I am having emotional breakdown, they
always soothe me. During the first time I went to university, I always felt
lonely and it really made me feel so down to stay away from my family. I have
always heard people saying that we will only begin to realize the importance of
something when we are away from it. These words really described me when I went
to start my university life away from home.
Being an only daughter, I often get
everything that I wished for. My parents never let me feel that something is
lacking. They always ensured that I had the best things in life. During my
secondary school life, my parents always bought for me various types of
reference books that I needed. They always made sure that I have every book
that I needed without complaining about the price of the book. They always
reminded me the importance of education in life. I am always advised to be
someone who is useful in society who contributes and develop the society. They
always have been conscious about their daughter’s well-being. My parents always
followed me everywhere and never let me go far from them. Sometimes I felt
frustrated when I was not allowed to go out on my own or follow my friends and
spend time with friends away from home for a longer amount of time. I felt that
I was treated as a kid and it really made me angry and upset.
I soon came to realize that my parents
always wanted the best for me. They wanted to protect me and always made sure
that I was safe. Whenever they saw bad things happening to girls on television,
they became scared and they are really concerned about my safety. Therefore, I
listened to them and never go against them when they prohibit me from going out
on my own. When I have tuition classes, my dad always came earlier and waits
for my class to finish. I am grateful to have such caring parents.
My mother is someone who holds a very deep
meaning for me. Without my mother, there will be no meaning for me to live. My
mother is the queen of my heart. Many of my friends were amazed to see that I
need my mother every time. I even need to hear my mother’s voice before I
sleep. My mother was always there for me when I fall. I have always assumed my
mother as an angel who was being sent by God to me. She is the best thing in my
life that has ever happened to me. As I do not have and sister, my mother was
always willing to hear all my problems and secrets. She is a good friend and
she always advised me on many things. I never felt awkward or strange to share
my problems with my mother. She keeps my secrets well and never told them to
anyone. I will never forget the moments when I was down and she was always
beside me. When I cried, she always lend me a shoulder and she cried with me. I
am a girl who frequently hurts herself accidentally so she was always cautious
of my safety. She always made sure that I am in a safe environment.
My dad is a loving dad. Although he
sometimes does not show it, I always knew that he always loved all of my family
members a lot. Unlike my mom, my dad has a temper which I have to admit that I
also have. Deep down his heart, he is a caring person. He is sometimes cheerful
and he always brings my family out for dinner. I still remember that he always
brought us to visit many places and also to explore many things. He taught us
about the outside world and the danger that awaits us if we are not cautious of
our safety out there. My dad always bought me everything I asked for. Since I
was a little girl, my dad always could not bear to see my crying or in pain.
When I fell sick, he could not look at me getting injection and he looked away.
My dad always followed me when I am out so when I first went to university, I
felt really stranded as if something was off. This is because I became too
dependent on my parents who always were with me wherever I went. At first, I
became panicked till I felt like crying and running back home but I remember
the motive I came to study. I want to be someone in life and give my mother a
wonderful life and also protect my dad at his old age. To do that, I need to
study.
My elder brother is a good source of
motivation for me. He is a smart student who excels in his studies. He is a
scholarship recipient. He studies at America now. He always encouraged me to
study well and to never give up in life no matter what problems life may
present us. In addition, my brother always told me that everyone has their own
goodness and is smart in their own unique way. He always told me to cherish
anything that I am doing. He said that I have to choose a field of study which
I am really interested in as it will motivate me to do better and to improvise
myself.
My younger brother is a playful and caring
person. He is an understanding person even though he is younger than me. He is
way taller than me as he is really active in sports. He is currently studying
in university. He always protected me when I am out of home. He follows me when
I wonder off alone in shopping mall. No matter I always fight with him, I
really love him to bits as he is a wonderful person.
